Wavellite "Snowman" w/ handmade wood mount + photo case - Montgomery County, Arkansas
Very unique Wavellite floater specimen from Mauldin Mountain, Montgomery County, Arkansas. It is a series of stacked Wavellite spheres that have been partially replaced by SiO2 pseudomorphs (these pseudomorphs are commonly mistaken for Crandallite, but they are actually SiO2 replacing the original Wavellite mineral). It amazingly resembles a snowman. From our personal collection of "best of unique Arkansas Minerals".
Specimen size: 2.3 x 1.4 x 1.4 cm
It is mounted in our new boxes we designed and made utilizing a naturally UV reactive Pine knot wood that comes from our land in Arkansas. The back is a photographic print of one of our photos of the Ouachita Forest in Arkansas (the same general area where the Wavellite is found). These are unique and exclusive to our shop.
The wood mount smells absolutely fantastic too.
*The clear plastic case can be removed as needed. The specimens are mounted with ticky tacky only, so they can be removed if needed as well.
The case measure approx. 2.25 x 1.5 x 1.5 inches
Everything will be packed securely for shipment.
