Unique Quartz Crystal Point, Old Stock, Montgomery County, Arkansas, w/wood base

Old stock Quartz Crystal point w/ beautiful and unique form. This is a type of Growth interference quartz, which hosts a "saw-mark-like" void where another mineral (likely calcite) was once attached. The calcite/other mineral dissolved while the crystal was still underground, likely due to various changes (temperature,changes in acidity etc) in the quartz seam environment over time. 

The point comes mounted with ticky tacky on a naturally uv-reactive pine knot wood base that also illuminates nicely when light shines through it. The wood itself is naturally infused with the resin of the tree it came from, so it smells wonderful too, like the Arkansas forests from where it was unearthed.
