Solution Quartz Crystal Cluster, Old Stock, Jeffrey Quarry, Arkansas, w/ natural wood base.

Old Stock Solution Quartz Crystal Cluster/Floater from the long-closed Jeffrey Quarry, in North Little Rock, Arkansas. This was unearthed by Henry Delinde. The Quartz is uniquely formed w/ wonderful sculptural aesthetics, and hosts various UV Reactive minerals on its surface. These include small pieces of the clay mineral Rectorite that are still attached to the specimen, and possibly micro-Cookeite which is often associated with this material (see photos showing fluorescence under longwave 365nm UV light).

 The specimen comes mounted with ticky tacky on a naturally uv-reactive pine knot wood base that also illuminates nicely when light shines through it. The wood itself is naturally infused with the resin of the tree it came from, so it smells wonderful too, like the Arkansas forests from where it was unearthed.
