RARE PURPLE STRENGITE and KIDWELLITE, COON CREEK MINE, POLK CO ARKANSAS.

Super Rare Strengite with Kidwellite + Iron Phosphate Combos. 

Wonderful example of iron phosphate combinations from this famous locality, with beautiful purple strengite crystals forming adjacent to nice botryoidal green kidwellite formations. The purple strengite is extremely nice and gemmy under glass microscope. It is much better in person compared to the photos. Especially if you examine it with a real glass loupe/glass optics on a microscope.

This piece was mined in the 1970s at the coon creek locale, near the Caney Creek Wilderness in Polk County, Arkansas, USA by a team of scientists and collectors including Al Kidwell, Meredith York, Henry Delinde, and others. It comes displayed in its original vintage container with vintage ticky tacky. The case is very old and you may wish to replace it, but we like it as it is authentic to its origin.
