Miserite + Wollastonite w/ wood mount + photo case - Garland County, Arkansas
VERY RARE
Miserite + Wollastonite,
from the North Wilson Pit, Wilson Springs (aka Potash Sulphur Springs), Garland County, Arkansas, USA
Pinkish-Purple Miserite and Whitish-Gray Wollastonite from a long closed locale. The North Wilson Pit in Wilson Springs/Potash Sulphur Springs in Garland County is the type-locality for Miserite. The north wilson pit is now closed/reclaimed. This is a Beautiful combination of these two unique minerals. The specimen is beautifully UV Reactive, shining a nice orange color under longwave 365nm light, and a bright yellow/yellow green under shortwave UV light (see photos). Note that the video shows the specimen under longwave 365nm only, shortwave fluoresces even brighter when displayed (but not good for shortwave uv light to touch your skin).
It is mounted in our new boxes we designed and made utilizing a naturally UV reactive Pine knot wood that comes from our land in Arkansas. The back is a photographic print of one of our photos of the Ouachita mountain range in Arkansas. These are unique and exclusive to our shop.
The wood mount smells absolutely fantastic too.
*The clear plastic case can be removed as needed. The specimens are mounted with ticky tacky only, so they can be removed if needed as well.
The case measure approx. 2.25 x 1.5 x 1.5 inches
