Kidwellite, ex Henry Delinde, 1970s exploration, Polk County, Arkansas, A+
Super Rare Kidwellite Polk County, Arkansas, A+.
Amazing old stock, from Henry Delinde's collection. This is an old storage case that he used to store this specimen he found in the 1970s. The post stamp says 1971 on the back of the box, but Henry and the Coon Creek Association were exploring this area of Polk County Arkansas all throughout the 1970s. The box contains a specimen of kidwellite (and possibly Halloysite opal) and other iron phosphates, found pre-kidwellite's discovery by Al Kidwell (who explored this area in the 70s with Henry and others). So, this is quite the specimen piece, coming from during the adventures examining new and unique phosphate rocks in Arkansas during a great time of discovery, and all of this done by absolute legends in the mineral world. This historic specimen comes with everything pictured, all wrapped separately and securely.
