The Minerals found on this piece include Kidwellite, Beraunite, Strengite, and minor amounts of Cacaoxenite etc.
Magnificent form/ great aesthetics and Displays beautifully! Extremely good aesthetics and condition for the locale. The front consists of Kidwellite and the backside of the specimen hosts micro Strengite and minor amounts of Cacoxenite (seen under microscope in very small amounts) on a mix of reddish Beraunite and other iron phosphates.
This piece was mined in the 1970s near the Caney Creek Wilderness in Polk County, Arkansas, USA at the 3 Oaks Gap locale in an area known as "The Arena" by a team of scientists and collectors including Al Kidwell, Meredith York, Henry Delinde, and others. A wonderful example of the iron phosphate combinations from this region of Arkansas. It showcases the distinct multi-generational layering of various species of iron phosphates that have been deposited over time. Unearthed by the best in Arkansas mineralogical history.
