North end of the Road Cut near the Old Willis Mine,
Saline County
Paron, Arkansas
USA
ex Jack Sliemers Collection
These were dug by a road builder back in the 80s or 90s, near the Old Willis Mine (famous for Green Chlorite Phantom Quartz Crystals.
From the person we acquired these from: "the chlorite quartz was from a man named Mike Crain who was a road builder who was working next to the Old Willis Mine. When he ran into pockets of crystal, he would stop and collect - about 10.000 lbs total. Gary bought all of it from Mike and then Jack bought the Chlorite ones from Leo and Gary. Would have been late 80's, early 90's. So, these come from the north end of the road cut close to Old Willis Mine."
Specimen Size: approx. 7.5 x 4 x 2 cm
wood base size: approx. 8 x 8 cm
The specimen comes mounted with ticky tacky on a naturally uv-reactive pine knot wood base that also illuminates nicely when light shines through it. The wood itself is naturally infused with the resin of the tree it came from, so it smells wonderful too, like the Arkansas forests from where it was unearthed.
Arkansas magic, from the Ouachita Mountain Range.
