A very fine example of a museum-grade Wavellite, with beautiful stalactite formations, AAA quality and an incredible sparkle. The crystallization from this specimen is much harder than other Wavellites as it is intermixed with a higher amount of SiO2. The host matrix is comprised of quartz adjacent to black chert. We have found that, typically, Wavellite is much harder with better crystallization when it is found adjacent to a vein of quartz (and not just chert).
