Museum-Grade Optical Quartz Crystal Point
-McEarl Ridge
-Garland County
-Arkansas, USA
A museum-grade optical quartz crystal point from the world famous Mcearl Ridge located in Blue Springs, Arkansas from a crystal dig years back.
Quartz is common, but quartz this nice is very rare. It is Arkansas quartz at it's finest. This specimen is in our personal collection of best of Arkansas Quartz.
The Mcearl family still lives in Blue Springs to this day, and i have visited with them personally some years ago. One portion of the Mcearl ridge that exists on their property showed incredible signs of quartz, with enormous builders of primarily quartz and quartzite 5-6 feet wide standing tall on the surface, and most of the ground beneath my feet was pure bull quartz. They told me stories of their grandfather digging huge quartz points several feet long , found just beneath the surface of their ridge. They found so many giant crystals on their ridge, that the grandkids used one of the massive quartz crystal points as a target for their BB guns. They pointed that specific massive quartz crystal point out to me in their yard, and sure enough it was riddled with pock marks from all of the BBs that have hit it over the years. Unfortunately all of the generations of Mcearl children were all good marksmen, and the specimen is ruined for any museum, but the story behind it makes it a priceless artifact. I was introduced to the Mcearl family by one of their cousins.
