Wonderful aesthetics, featuring a large "vug" of unique yellow-green hued Wavellite, as well as many secondary and other "vugs" hosting more of the same yellow-green hue of Wavellite as well as light blue Planerite, possibly some turquoise and/or rashleighite. Under microscope, there seems to be some potential crandallite and/or sio2 pseudomorphs after wavellite. The specimen is large and unique overall and displays beautifully! It is a bit of an anomaly. It came from Henry Delinde's wavellite collection, but this particular specimen was not labeled with an exact locale. A mystery....so i examine the matrix to look for clues, but unfortunately, it could come from several different locales. My guess is Mauldin Mountain in Montgomery County, but some of the pseudomorphs have some characteristics similar to specimens originating from the Delinde Claim/Dug Hill in Garland County. ALSO certain characteristics that resemble some anomalous wavellite in Polk County! Normally it is quite easy for us to define the origin of a single wavellite specimen from Arkansas, but this one is stumping me a bit being "matrix-less"/a floater, so i cant examine the character of the chert typical of most Arkansas Wavellite. Regardless, it comes from a Wavellite LEGEND! Henry Delinde, and it speaks for itself, regardless of the exact locale. Rare and Unique combo here. Oh, and ps: it has a mild amount of fluorescence under longwave 365nm uv light!

Approx. 3 lbs 5+ oz

Approx. 22 x 12 x 12 cm (large cabinet specimen).

(See video for more details)

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0723/5187/5354/files/57_62e2ff5a-ab64-4f2b-9f10-be5a42578d10.jpg?v=1790878932
https://www.arkansasminerals.com/products/large-yellow-green-wavellite-w-blue-planerite-ex-henry-delinde-arkansas-usa
